I have been working with Sean for several years. I had a hip replacement about eight years earlier and had limited range of motion and back problems. He created a careful strategic plan of exercises to increase my mobility and strengthen my whole body. His scientific approach taught me to understand and utilize body awareness and how to function in my daily life. I no longer hurt myself and my back pain is gone. I also play golf and he taught me how to use my whole body to swing and even develop better eye hand coordination used in putting. I can’t say enough good things about Sean. Alex is by far the best trainer that I have worked with. He tailors the training to specific wants & needs and develops a unique plan based on that. I met Sean when I arrived in Chicago on March 2013. In the beginning I was against the idea of working with a personal trainer, I thought it was just a waste of money. But then I started working out with Sean and I found myself actually having fun during the workouts. Slowly it became a leisurely activity, instead of a boring task that I had to accomplish. Along the way he taught me how to eat healthier foods and stay away from processed foods. Even if you workout everyday but you eat poorly, nothing is ever going to change; it’s 20% exercise and 80% diet. We worked a lot with fixing my balance, coordination, and posture. It’s fun working out with Sean, you learn a lot of new things about the human body and how exercise can greatly affect our daily lives. I’m very grateful to have worked out with him, I learned a ton of things about my body and how to take care of it better. Unfortunately by March 2014 I had to go back to the Philippines, but I will never forget the lessons I learned from Sean. Thanks for all the help Sean! Side note: my trainer here in the Philippines is very happy with my balance and coordination, it just shows how effective my workouts with Sean were.

Sean is an excellent trainer. He has taught me how to strengthen my entire body to alleviate many back issues. Sean watches you carefully to ensure that you are doing the exercises properly so that you get the most out of them. His routines have helped me increase my stability and balance. I have been working with Alex for over 18 months. Last week, I pulled a muscle in my right upper buttocks area. Over the course of 24 hours, the area became more tight, inflamed and inhibited movement in my core. On day three of my injury, I had my scheduled session with Alex. I told him ahead of time what had transpired, sort of expecting (or hoping) that he would tell me to skip the session and rest. Instead, he asked me a number of questions to assess the nature of my injury and proceeded to have me attend. At the session, he told me that he wanted to focus on stability instead of only mobility. He ascertained after some observation that my body was reacting to a tight left foot and ankle that, over time, caused my right side (the buttocks and lower back area) to tighten up. Thus, during the session, Alex helped me loosen the left calf, ankle, and foot and work on stability. By the end of the session, I felt so much better!! For the rest of the day, I was able to move about without wincing in pain. Thank you, Alex, for your keen understanding of the body and ability to tailor a session to not only alleviate pain but get at the core of the problem!

Before training with Alex, I was active & athletic, but suffered high cholesterol, hypertension, stiff muscles, sore knees & inflexibility. We have worked very hard and the results are amazing! My flexibility, muscle tone & core strength have all improved. My knee pain is gone! The improvement in my golf game has been phenomenal. Coordinating the core, hips and shoulders has added power to my swing, added 15-20 yards to my irons, & knocked 3-4 strokes off my handicap. But in addition to improving muscle coordination and posture, my body’s health is at the best level in years! My first comprehensive physical exam in two years showed better lab results on every test! Lowered blood pressure, better cholesterol readings, lower pulse rate. My doctor was delighted, urging me that “whatever efforts have gotten me here, keep it up!” I am so grateful for Alex’s personalized game-plan that he’s developed and keeps adjusting just for me & my needs.

Let me start by saying I was not a gym-person. I started training with Alex to lose the baby weight a year after my 1st child. He really motivated me to move my body and change the way I ate and thought. He helped me curb my cravings and lose inches. My goal was to NOT to have a “mom butt.” I lost the weight just by following his simple teachings. Even while pregnant with my 2nd son, I was able to maintain my training and exercise routine. Alex adjusted my training to fit my pregnancy and now post-baby needs. Again, I was not a gym-person and thanks to his support, I became one. For mothers out there who think you don’t have the time or the money to get the body you want….it’s all excuses. You just have to make the commitment to yourself!
