Function – The New Way of Walkin’

 

Function – Everybody’s talkin about the new way of walking. What is it? Simply put, function is you!

As we coach individuals with movement, we like to break it down so everyone can understand it for themselves, and apply it to their goals/life.  Understanding the fundamentals of exercise helps us create strategies inside and outside of the gym.

1. Foundation – These activities include bending, reaching, walking, lifting. These are Movements that most people perform on a daily basis

2. Performance – Name your game, this is tennis, running, rock climbing. These movements help people feel confidence and have fun with movement. These Movements are often specific goals of Exercisers – getting better or back to it

3. Prevention – Recovery helps our performance and strengthens our foundation. An easy and fun way to enhance prevention training, try to vary your performance and foundational drills. Alot of the time we just need a little Variability in our lives

These are three three concepts that have helped us help our clients get Twice as Fit and increase their Function! Human Movement is our passion, we will keep sharing our passion with you!

Spring Fling – Summer Goals are Here!

Spring is upon us, and are we ready for summer to be here! Twice as Fit has been training, studying, and working diligently to get everyone ready for their summer fun. Now is the time of year to dust off the cobwebs and start moving! We have developed Golf, Running, and Soccer programs for team and individual implementation.

When the weather gets cold and dreary, it is easy to forget about Fitness Goals, we get it. All we need is a little momentum to get the ball rolling. Need some help? Have a question about a specific Fitness Goal? Let Twice as Fit help you, that is our specialty. Focusing on fun, pain free movement helps us reach our goals. What are you waiting for? Exercise Comprehension – Biomechanics 101

Human mechanics is a big time interest for Twice as Fit. Movement observation allows the exercise professional to understand what muscles and joints are doing during movement. If we understand what muscles and joints are doing during exercise, we can create specific exercise programs designed for our client’s goals. Our education has been focused on Human Mechanics so we know exactly what the body needs to do during exercise/sport/ADL’s.

If Mike wants to work on Golf, we have to understand what goes into the golf swing, how mike is currently swinging a golf club, and do the two different swings match up. Through movement observation, we focus on the strengths of his swing, and also the weaknesses in his swing. Building upon Mike’s good mechanics, we feather in exercises that help with his weaknesses, which helps bridge the gap between his strengths and weaknesses. A weakness becoming a strength helps propel our strengths and our golf game!

Small Group to Classroom – Success & Development

Sean Cueing Like a Boss

Twice as Fit has challenged its’ Development. 2018 has gotten off to a great start!

We kicked off our Small Group Exercise classes with a bang, creating a fun, interactive group environment. The power of groups can drive results, and competition! As Twice as Fit keeps taking steps towards our bigger picture, we love to share our goals and mission with our clients and community.

The next exciting development of 2018 is Twice as Fit’s new teaching platform. Sean and I have been teaching in large group settings at Universities, as well as Chiropractor Clinics. We call it Recess!

Our main objective with Recess is to break up Sedentary Time and help people use small movement tools to adhere to movement, stay away from pain and have fun. Building a strong movement foundation helps us with our exercise adherence. Movement gives us the potential to be creative, there are so many ways to help people become successful. Twice as Fit is all in for 2018, stay tuned for continued updates! Keep Movin’!
